A range of plates, bowls and mugs have been stripped from the shelves at IKEA over concerns they could cause serious harm.

Product Safety issued the recall for the Heroisk and Talrika range over fears the items could break when filled with hot liquid, which could increase the risk of burns and scalding.

The Heroisk bowls, plates and mugs were sold in packs of two while the Talrika range was sold in packs of four.

The light green, red and dark blue Talrika plates are part of the recall as well as the light red mug.

Green and yellow Heroisk bowls, the light red and yellow mugs and the red, green or blue plates have also been recalled.

“IKEA received reports these products can break and potentially cause burns due to hot content,” IKEA said.
