The worn-out Brisbane Transit Centre is to be demolished for Cross River Rail’s new underground Roma Street Station.
Early works on the new station will start next year, with the transit centre demolished in late-2020, and the area to be completely transformed by 2025.

“When complete the new station is expected to be used by more than 230,000 commuters every week, the equivalent of over four capacity crowds at Suncorp Stadium,” Deputy Premier Jackie Trad said on Sunday.
