Thunderstorms are predicted to continue today after Inner Brisbane and Southeast Queensland suffered heavy rainfall, flash flooding & power outages on Tuesday.

“There will be some showers returning again in the mornings, there’s still a pretty good risk of showers and a storm later in the afternoon,” Ricus Lombardh of Bureau of Meteorology said.

He continued, “Once you get into Thursday there’s still some showers around and decreasing a little bit more coming into Friday, it’s easing through the later part of the week.”

Yesterday storms hit Brisbane CBD, dropping 23mm of rain over the city in one hour!

Forest Lake recorded 61mm of rainfall while Eagle Farm recorded 69mm.

Over 2200 homes lost power in Brisbane and Moreton Bay during the storm.

Stay safe and alert, Brisbane!
