In breaking COVID19 news from the Premier, 10 new active cases have been reported in Brisbane.
It was revealed that 8 of these cases are locally-acquired and 2 were acquired overseas.
There are currently 78 active cases in hospital, and over 14,500 tests were completed yesterday.
Chief Health Officer, Jeanette Young confirmed that the majority of cases are linked and that there are two distinct clusters.
“The majority of our cases are of course from overseas, hotel quarantine, but our hospitals have 78 active cases at the moment”, stated Young.
There are links from the doctor at the Princess Alexander hospital, who passed it onto another worker and then to a traveller in hotel quarantine.
From tomorrow, only nurses who have received a COVID-19 vaccine will be allowed to treat COVID-positive patients and complete COVID tests.
