2021 Anzac Day dawn services, marches and public commemorations will go ahead as normal, according to Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.

The Premier confirmed that 2021 Anzac Day commemorations will proceed as normal, thanks to Queenslanders’ response to stopping the spread of the virus.

“In times of strife, Queenslanders do what it takes to protect each other.We’ve done it in wartime, and we’re doing it now through the global pandemic,” the Premier wrote in a Facebook post this morning.

Last year’s Anzac Day events were widely cancelled thanks to the pandemic, with the typical large gatherings at dawn services replaced in part with private commemorations on driveways of homes around Australia.
