“There comes a time when you have simply had enough”
“Enough of the impossible standards. Enough of the “ideal” image. Most of all, enough of the feeling of NOT ENOUGH when it comes to your own beauty. There also comes a time when an entire culture of women have had it. When blogs and ad campaigns and AS-IS selfie pictures start to change the rules of the game.”
“That time is now. That culture is this culture. “
Now here’s a beauty campaign we can wholeheartedly get behind.
For every woman who’s ever felt it impossible to live up to the beauty ideals we see splashed across magazines, in advertisements and paraded on the catwalk, Stop The Beauty Madness is speaking up for you.
From ageism to racism, fat shaming, body image, eating disorders and sexuality, the campaign is saying out loud what we’ve all been thinking for a long time – it has to stop.
Speaking to The Huffington Post, founder Robin Rice says the Stop The Beauty Madness campaign wants you to “feel like you’ve been socked in the gut” when you realise the “madness” presented in it’s series of 25 advertisements.
And when you see the powerful images (above) you’ll understand the point Rice is making.
“Women need to be helping the world move in a more beautiful direction – a genuinely beautiful direction,” Rice says.
So to all the women out there, let’s stand up and tell the world it’s time to #StopTheBeautyMadness.
