Uh-oh! Cosmetic brand Lush might have accidentally stepped into the horticultural industry with one of their new products.
The Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar has been causing plants to grow out of people’s drains after the product has been misused.
The plants are coming from the beans used in the bar, but we can’t imagine they’re supposed to go down the drain…
When the bar has worn down and the seeds fall out they’ve been washed down the drain rather than disposed in the bin and little sprouts have been emerging.

Posted on Tumblr, one user was stumped.
“We use organic aduki beans to create a texture in the massage bar, so that you’ve got small bead like shapes to massage the muscles,” Helen Ambrosen, co-founder of Lush, told BuzzFeed. “In order for the beans to germinate they must have been left in the shower for a few days. The results you get just go to show how fresh the ingredients really are.”
The create fresh products by hand but we didn’t know they were THIS fresh!
But Lush didn’t aim to make your bathroom a mini-jungle, as the product isn’t supposed to be used mid-bathe but rather after showering to massage muscles – as the name suggests.
But if you think your bathroom could use a little fresh greenery, you know what to do!
