You know when you are in Coles and there’s say, a yoghurt, that has been marked down and you go ‘what a bargain’..
Then, you get to the checkout and it scans at the incorrect price.
Well, bargain fans, we have some news for you!
That item, if you tell staff, will be free as it has caused an inconvenience, as long as you tell them at the checkout.
There are some terms with it, it can only be done to one item, the rest are charged at their discounted prices and it doesn’t apply to anything over $50, alcohol or liquor.
A Coles spokesperson told news.com.au in February, “Our Promise on Price Scanning goes above and beyond the requirements of the Australian Consumer Law which requires businesses to refund the difference between any overcharged amount and the correct price of the item,” and is part of their customer promise.
But, it does mean you need to pay attention at the checkout more, as there’s free stuff to be had (if there is a mistake).
