The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has officially recalled the Kmart Australia 2 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster.
Sold between the 1st of September 2016 and the 1st November 2017, if you own the TL-136 model, it should be returned to any Kmart store for a full refund as soon as possible.
“Some of the toasters have a faulty switch, causing the heating element to remain “live” when the lever is up and the toaster appears to be turned off,” the ACCC report states.
“There is a risk of electric shock if the user makes contact with the heating element.”
No other toasters have been impacted by this recall.
“For more information consumers should contact Kmart Customer Service on 1800 124 125 (Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm AEST) or go to http://www.kmart.com.au,” the report states.
