It turns out there’s one very simple new iPhone trick making the rounds, and it’s pretty much all because of Siri.
Most of us a love-hate relationship with Siri! This time, there’s not a lot of love…
Hackers are using Siri to send messages, make calls and post Facebook status updates from your phone — even when it’s locked.
According to Cosmopolitan, pranksters will summon the voice assistant while the lock screen is on by holding down on the Home button before making their commands. While Siri’s actions are limited in lock mode, users can still dictate text messages to any contact saved on your phone, make calls just by saying a name or ask to “Update Facebook” with a status.
Can you imagine the kind of cringe-worthy havoc your kids or prankster friends could wreak with this?
Here’s how to protect yourself from being the victim of unwanted, totally embarrassing Facebook status updates:
– Go to settings
– Choose Siri
– Turn off the option that says Access on Lock Screen
The only catch is, you’ll no longer be able to summon Siri when your phone is locked.
TRUST US, it will be worth it in the long run!
