Scores of customers have been left outraged after Coles made changes to its home brand nappies range.

Shoppers have taken to social media to ask Coles why they have changed their popular Comfy Bot nappies, with reports saying the new product is ‘is less absorbent, causes rashes on their infants and are resulting in leakages that users say never happened when their children wore the original product.’

Some customers have complained that the new version has a chemical smell and is much thinner than the original product.

According to Smart Company, a spokesperson from Coles confirmed that the new version of the nappies were rolled out in December after extensive product testing with customers, who said they preferred the new design. The new product outperformed the old Comfy Bot and are now being made in Australia, where previously they were made in Thailand.

Coles have responded to complaints on social media, offering unsatisfied customers a full refund.
