Sydney can expect a second day of crazy weather, with heavy rains and strong winds predicted for the city.

The commute to work this morning will be difficult with many roads blocked off by fallen tress or flooding.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued several alerts including a severe weather warning for the metropolitan, Hunter Mid-North Coast and Illawarra districts. 

Power is out for more than 100,000 people.

The State Emergency Services responded to 1600 jobs overnight. The NSW Fire and Rescue were also kept busy tending to 160 weather-related jobs between 4pm and 7pm alone yesterday. 

It is believed two people have gone missing in flood waters. The Fire and Rescue teams are continuing to look for them.

Damage to homes has occurred with falling trees, branches and power lines.
