The dinners we ate as kids growing up are a far cry to some of the meals we have now.
So when Room With Roses in the Brisbane Arcade introduced their ‘Nostalgia Month’ we couldn’t help but go along to taste test the foods of our childhood!
From beef wellington, camembert chicken, lamb cutlets and bread and butter pudding… it was a walk down memory lane.
Plus we learnt a few new things – like did you know Mccain’s Crumbed Fish Fingers were introduced in the 1950s?
And of course we had to try a Turkish Delight Champagne Cocktail… in recognition of the 1970s Champagne diet!
Each week in August, Room With Roses has a menu inspired by a decade.
From the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s – and the menus are to die for!
What was our favourite? We couldn’t tell you!
We definitely had to undo the belts at the end of the meal though…
