A New Zealand artist, Benjamin Lloyd, has shot to fame on social media over the last few days following a series of airbrushed tattoos he’s given children.

Benjamin, who is based near Auckland, has created the tattoos as a way of cheering up sick kids in his neighbourhood.

Although the tattoos look super real, they are actually created with an airbrush rather than a needle, so the artwork disappears after a few days.

It all started with a little message saying ”50 likes and I’ll go to the Starship Hospital and tat all the kids up.”

The comments he received were very positive with one Mum saying ”Love love love this. From a parent who spent 6 months with my son before he passes. This is a great thing you do.”

It turns out that Benjamin’s motivation was because of his own childhood experiences, with him telling Stuff.NZ ”I was teased every day at school and so I would draw over my hand and up my sleeve. I just got better and better. Eventually, I had a line up of people wanting me to draw on them, I was doing deals and kids swapping cards and marbles’

What a guy!
