Offspring, which last aired in 2014, is in production in Melbourne and the sixth season will screen later this year.

As a bonus for followers, Network Ten has commissioned seven web-only mini-episodes and behind-the-scene interviews with the stars, fashion notes and galleries from season six.

Fans will be be able to binge the fifth season of the much-loved family drama from May 30.

The series was re-commissioned last year and the majority of the main cast is returning including Asher Keddie in the lead role as Dr Nina Proudman and Kate Stewart as her on-screen sister Billie.

The seven mini-episodes will appear on Ten’s main website in June.

Ten’s general manager of digital Liz Baldwin said since the return of Offspring was announced late last year, there’s been a lot of chatter on social media.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer exclusive online content ahead of the start of the new season that will engage fans and hook those yet to experience the Offspring phenomenon,” Baldwin said in a statement.
