Sometimes when we talk about beauty, many of us are looking in the wrong places.

Instead of looking to the runways or in a magazine, beauty can be found in it’s purest form when you see a parent caring for their child.

It’s for this reason that this photo taken by mum Heather Whitten of her husband Thomas trying to soothe little Fox years ago, has resonated with so many people.

Ms Whitten, a photographer, wrote on her Facebook page that she took the photograph in November 2014 after Fox, then aged about one, had an attack of vomiting and diarrhoea.

He was later taken to hospital with salmonella poisoning. Her husband then took the little one into the shower to soothe him.

“Thomas had spent hours in the shower with him, trying to keep his fever down and letting the vomit and diarrhoea rinse off of them both as it came,” Ms Whitten wrote.

“It was a powerful moment for us as parents. As I sat in the shower with the two of them I was just overwhelmed with the scene in front of me. This man. This husband and partner and father.

“He was so patient and so loving and so strong with our tiny son in his lap. His whispers of reassurance to Fox, that he would be OK and that Thomas would take care of him were so steady and so honest.”

One mum said: “This is what parents do for their babies! This is beautiful the amount of love that is given to little ones and the sacrifices mothers and fathers make.”

However sweet you think it might be once you know the story, apparently Facebook didn’t share that view – and the picture was removed from Facebook numerous times for apparently “violating” its rules, The Sun reports.

Like Facebook, a few found the image offensive. “Wow!!!!!!! I cannot sit here and believe that people actually agree with this photo…… Completely speechless and the sickest thing I ever saw!” one user wrote.

“I’m not going to lie at first I was thinking what in the world, why is this on here. But it is clear that there is more to the story,” another wrote.

Ms Whitten said she thought twice about sharing the picture, worried that it would be taken the wrong way. However, she said it was too beautiful not to share.

“I think it would be really powerful to show my son [the picture of] him vulnerable and wrapped up in his father’s arms,” she told Today in the US. “(The photo shows) this is the kind of man that your father is and I hope that [Fox] will see that and never be ashamed or embarrassed by it.”
