Cyclists in South Africa to compete in the Cape Argus Tour were out for a pre-race cycle when from over their shoulder they were alarmed by an Emu approaching at speed and chasing them down the road!

The cameraman is heard laughing as if from no-where the worlds fastest bird runs past him and heads at speed chasing his friends up ahead.

The cyclist who is recording estimated the Ostrich was keeping up at 50km/h and not even breaking a sweat.

The ostrich in all it’s feathered glory and full stride can reach speeds of 70 km/h, outpacing almost any predator.

Our guess is he just wanted to prove he’s the fastest bird EVERRRR…
