Okay, so this may not work for ALL professional tennis games… but we love the premise.

These ‘ball dogs’ replace young kids acting as ball boys and girls – retrieving the tennis balls when a shot misses or falls short.

Specially trained shelter dogs are picked and taught to do the very important job.

It may not be the most convenient – and we wouldn’t want to take the role of the aspiring tennis stars of the future full time – but how sweet is it.

Plus it shows people that when trained, shelter and rescue dogs can be incredibly lovable and friendly too!

This video was uploaded to the ATP World Tour’s youtube page of a fun match between Gastao Elias and Roberto Carballes Baena.
