Customers have questioned Aldi after it was discovered the retailer was selling Coles brand antiperspirant rewrapped and marketed as shoe deodoriser.
The women’s deodorant was covered up with a plastic label for Power Force Shoe Deodoriser Spray.
Curious customers made the discovery after peeling noticing the colour of the original can underneath the label.
Taking to their Facebook page and Reddit, they questioned the retailer over the product.
“I recently purchased Aldi’s Power Force Shoe Deodoriser Spray from Aldi,” wrote one disgruntled customer.
“I peeled the label off and was shocked and disgusted to find it was actually Coles brand Anti-Perspirant.”
“Isn’t this false advertising at its best. I will be returning this product for a full refund. It does make me wonder…what other products do you falsify for profit????”
The retailer responded that they were working with their supplier to look into the problem.
“We have withdrawn the product from sale and are investigating the error, however we can confirm the product is a shoe deodoriser and the content is true to the ALDI packaging,” they wrote.
“You can continue to use the product for its stated purpose, or you are welcome to return it to your local ALDI for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
