Sharon Stone has sparked speculation suggesting she may be reuniting with her Basic Instinct co-star Michael Douglas in the Ant-Man sequel.
The Golden Globe-winning actress teased her new gig during an appearance on America’s The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday
“I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements,” she said. “But I’m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That’s it!”
Editors at CinemaBlend.com believe Sharon could have been hinting at the literal size of her character and be starring in Ant-Man and The Wasp, the sequel to the hit 2015 movie, which starred Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas.
It’s heavily speculated that she will star as Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp superhero and wife of Michael’s character Hank Pym. The character briefly appeared in the Ant-Man movie, but her face was never shown and Janet eventually sacrifices herself by going “subatomic” to stop a ballistic missile.
Marvel bosses have yet to comment on Sharon’s secret role, but it won’t be her first comic book project. Back in 2004, she played villain Laurel Hedare opposite Halle Berry as the titular Catwoman in the DC Comics flop.
