OK, so we’ve all done it, pulled out our phones to take a picture or a quick vid at a concert. Hey, some artists even ask us to get them out to the lit-up screens like a 21st Century version of the lighter.

But where do you draw the line?

At a recent gig in Turin, Italy, the Red Hot Chili Peppers cracked it – well, guitarist Josh Klinghoffer did.

Apparently he got so fed up with fans standing still and filming the set on their phones, he protested by straight-up stopped playing during his Californication solo – to film the crowd on his phone.

It is not known whether Klinghoffer was astutely aware of the irony.

We think maybe.
