Actress Raquel Welch has triumphed over famous women more than half her age to be crowned the hottest ever bikini body.
The 75-year-old became an icon after wearing a fur two-piece in 1966 movie One Million Years B.C. and 50 years on, that enduring image has helped her land the coveted title from website Swimwear365 to celebrate National Bikini Day on Tuesday.
In fact, the top three spots were handed to Hollywood legends as opposed to modern day starlets, with Bond girl Ursula Andress coming in second, thanks to her iconic white bikini in Dr. No, while the late, great Marilyn Monroe placed third.
Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson, 49, was the first relatively-recent famous face and figure to appear in the top 10 at number six, proving her red one-piece from the hit ’90s show had left a lasting impact on men and women alike.
Another icon, Brigitte Bardot, landed at seven before current stunners finally made an appearance, with Jennifer Lopez coming ninth and Beyonce closing out the top 10 at 10.
A spokesperson for bosses at Swimwear365, who commissioned the poll of 2,000 women, said: “What we’ve found is that the iconic bikini bodies of yesteryear are as popular today as they ever were.
“No matter where you are in the world, whether on the beach abroad or at home in the U.K., it’s important to feel confident in yourself and what you’re wearing – just like Raquel Welch or Marilyn Monroe.”
Other big names to appear on the list include Nicole Scherzinger (11th), Sophia Loren (12th), Rihanna and Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren (16th).
Sports Illustrated model and actress Kate Upton, 24, only made it to number 25, while the first supermodel to make the list was Brazilian beauty Gisele, who just made it in to the top 30 at number 29.
And despite endlessly putting her curves and famous bottom on display, reality star Kim Kardashian only managed to make number 31 on the survey.
