While Rafael Nadal impressed fans last night with a stellar win over Frenchman Gael Monfils, it was his post-match interview that left people talking.
Speaking to Channel 7’s Jim Courier, the popular Spaniard was asked about the long awaited appearance of girlfriend, Xisca Perello in the stands.
Despite dating for over a decade, it was the brunette beauty’s first trip down under. Xisca has chosen to stay out of the spotlight for much of Nadal’s career, focusing on her university degree.
When asked about his girlfriend, Nadal told Courier: “Now finally after 10 years my girlfriend gets a wildcard to come here.”
Courier responded: “A wildcard? I’m speechless. That’s a wildcard? She’s not a main draw player? She needs a special entry?
The former number one cut the interview short, sheepishly replying: “You know, it’s better we stop here.”
“After 10 years, finally my girlfriend gets a wildcard to come here.”

Xisca appeared to see the fun side in his response, smiling in the stand. We can’t get enough of these two! They are pure couple goals!
