Queen have posted on their YouTube channel interviews they did in 1986 for their album A Kind of Magic, as well as the songs they recorded for the film Highlander.
Though the bulk of their answers relate to songs for those two projects, two quotes from Freddie Mercury dealt with the band and where he saw his future going.
Regarding the band, he said: “It’s four writers that write very different songs… We have all different kinds of things.”
Regarding his future in the music industry: “I know there will be a time where I can’t run around on stage because it’ll be ridiculous and there comes a time when you have to stop… So maybe I’ll go into production or I’ll still write songs.”
Sadly, Mercury never had to worry about his future as he left us just five years after this interview, in 1991, at age 45.
