Annie Lennox knows that a lot of her peers have resorted to plastic surgery — and the whole idea kind of freaks her out.
The former Eurythmics singer tells Yahoo fashion editor Bobbi Brown, “It’s such an issue for women as they get older, especially women like myself who have been performers all our life… I have no problem with plastic surgery, but the issue is, I don’t think it’s done very well because it kind of screams at you from hundreds of yards away. It tells you: Wow, that woman’s had a lot of work, or that man’s had a lot of work… The process of getting older doesn’t have to be submission to becoming frail. But at the same time, we don’t have to feel desperate that we have to be young.”
