Celine Dion just lost her husband, Rene Angelil, to cancer and now her sister, Claudette has revealed that their brother is also battling the disease.
The 47-year-old French-Canadian singer has heard the news that her brother Daniel has been given a “matter of days or hours to live”. Dion’s rep confirmed the news to Entertainment Tonight.
Her sister, Claudette, spoke with the Journal of Montreal.
“It’s very painful. It’s a matter of days or hours. It looks a lot like René, he had cancer of the throat, tongue and brain. Our family is very experienced,” she said.
Celine is reeling from the news that her husband, 73, has passed after years of battling cancer.
The couple, who wed in 1994, have three young sons together.
“I’m trying really hard to show my children that sickness and things happen in life. You cannot be crying and be depressed and consistently talk about, ‘Oh my God,’” Dion told Us Weekly in August 2015 after she returned to her Las Vegas residency show.
Since the news of her husband’s passing, she has cancelled her Las Vegas show and is not expected to return to the stage until February.
