Mila Kunis is too scared to wear her engagement ring.

The 32-year-old actress was given a solitaire diamond by now-husband Ashton Kutcher when he proposed in February, 2014, with the Tiffany & Co. sparkler estimated to have cost around $260,000

But despite describing the jewel as “incredibly beautiful”, Mila has admitted she’s so terrified someone will steal her ring that she never wears it – instead choosing to keep it locked up safe.

“My engagement ring is in a safety deposit box and I’m like, ‘I can’t wear this because someone’s going to chop my hand off for it!’ ” the actress said during an interview on KIIS 1065 radio station on Monday morning.

Bad Moms star Mila and Ashton tied the knot in July, 2015 and opted for very simple wedding bands. The actress added she chose to go through Etsy, a website that specialises in selling homemade, vintage and unique factory-manufactured items, for the rings because she wanted thin, plain ones.

“I decided our wedding bands were going to be wonderful and beautiful and simple, and so we got them made on Etsy,” she said.

“Mine is 1mm platinum and his is 2mm yellow gold and made by a wonderful little old lady.”

Mila revealed during an interview on U.S. chat show Conan last month that she had paid just $90 for her own ring.

“I wanted the thinnest possible platinum band – it’s super, super thin,” she explained. “And so I went and looked (in jewellery stores) and I was like, ‘They’re how much? This is astronomical!’ So I went on Etsy and I was like, $90! Buy now! (This ring was) $90 everybody!”

After Mila’s admission, host Conan O’Brien praised her for always being “frugal”, to which the actress replied: “That’s a nice way of saying cheap, but yes.”
