After all the drama of Tuesday night’s episode and Toni Pearen getting bitten in the face five times by jungle pythons, I thought we were done with snakes.
No more snakes, they’ve had more than enough screen time.
So someone explain to me why we lost sweet, wonderful comedian Mel Buttle to snakes last night?
It all started with Pettifleur Berenger (as it always does) pointing out she saw a snake at the campsite.
And….. we have our first camp snake sighting of 2021! #ImACelebrityAU pic.twitter.com/iAP7nesQ1u

Mel Buttle revealed she suffers from a serious snake phobia and could not shake what Pettifleur had seen.
“I’m not even afraid that they’re gonna bite me. It’s not that. It’s the image of them. And it’s of even a photo of them,” she said, which makes sense to me!
A phobia is irrational, so it’s not supposed to be logical after all.
“And I wanted to try and come here and see how long… how well I would go. And then today, with Pettifleur, I have been losing my mind all day.”
She finally added, “I feel like s**t, doing this. But I… I, um, I have to go, unfortunately.”
And just like that, she was off.

“I know I’m gonna regret it… But I can always go on Bachelor in Paradise,” her final statement as she walked off the show.
Listen… MEL…I will find out who I need to pay off to get you on Bachie in Paradise, but I might need to borrow a couple of bucks to do it.
For everyone saying that @MelindaButtle should not have done this show if she had a fear of snakes, I’m pretty sure that one of the reasons she wanted to do this show was to conquer her fear of snakes. Unfortunately it all got too much for her.
