Bert and Patti Newton are very blessed indeed.
They’ve just welcomed ANOTHER grandchild, making it the fourth for their daughter, Lauren and her former Olympic swimmer husband, Matt Welsh.
The beautiful little boy has been named Monty Matthew Newton Welsh. According to New Idea, Monty Matthew’s middle name is in honour of his father, his late maternal great-grandfather and his uncle, actor Matthew Newton.
Little Monty made his way into the world three weeks early by caesarean at 2:12pm on February 18 at Freemasons Hospital in Melbourne.
Monty will have his three ecstatic older siblings to look up to, including eight-year-old Sam, six-year-old Eva and three-year-old Lola.
‘The pregnancy was a beautiful surprise, but it was pretty busy having three other kids. We didn’t think it was going to happen a fourth time, so we’re thrilled to get a perfect, beautiful child like Monty,’ 36-year-old Lauren revealed.
Proud grandfather Bert added: ‘It’s fun to have another one. I think it’s very clever of Lauren to have two boys and two girls, with the boys as bookends. She’s a great mother.’
