Paul McCartney has wound back the clock more than 50 years by singing A Hard Day’s Night at his concert in California.
It was the first time since 1965 that McCartney has sung The Beatles classic, in full, as a solo artist.
He did perform a brief rendition of the song during half time of the Super Bowl in 2002.
A Hard Day’s Night was the opening number to a 38-song marathon concert at the Save Mart Centre in Fresno on Wednesday, a leg of his One On One Tour, reports Rolling Stone online.
The audience were treated to plenty of Beatles treasures, with McCartney’s set list including Love Me Do, In Spite of All the Danger (unplayed since 2005), The Fool on the Hill (unplayed since 2003) and You Won’t See Me (unplayed since 2004).
