Get ready Lost In Space fans!
Ten new episodes of the 60s cult classic sci-fi show have been ordered by Netflix!
While the remake of Irwin Allen’s classic isn’t expected to hit our screens until 2018, it is officially coming.
In a nod to the original, the show will still focus predominantly on the Robinson family as they battle their way through a brand new adventure.

“The original series so deftly captured both drama and comedy, and that made it very appealing to a broad audience,” Netflix’s Vice President of Original Content Cindy Holland said.
“The current creative team’s reimagining of the series for Netflix is sure to appeal to both fans who fondly remember the original and to create a new generation of enthusiasts around the world.”

While multiple attempts at a Lost In Space remake have failed in the past two decades, the creative team have been working closely with Irwin’s widow up until 2013 when she unfortunately passed away.
The original series aired in 1965, focussing on the United States in 1997 attempting to send a family (the Robinsons) to colonize on another planet and the problems and struggles that arose from that.
While that plot sounds a tad silly now that it is 2016 – ah, hindsight is a wonderful thing – we are excited to see how they bring the series into the current day (or future).
