2020 will mark an end of several era’s for Channel Seven Brisbane after the network’s CEO James Warburton announced the axing of 3 QLD travel shows – Queensland Weekender, The Great Day Out and Creek to Coast in Brisbane.
In light of Channel Seven’s recent axing of the 3 beloved shows, our very own Laurel Edwards is overcome with emotion after working for the network on The Great Day Out (formerly The Great South East) for 22 years… Watch her emotional response below.
It is reported that the decision comes as Warburton takes tighter control of the budget at the network by investing more heavily in primetime content.
Seven West Media Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, James Warburton, said: “The programs that are not continuing have all made a valuable contribution to Seven… However, we will continue to make decisions that support our content led growth strategy and focus resources where they will make the most impact.”
