Jon Cryer dated Demi Moore in the ’80s, when Ashton Kutcher was seven years old. So when Ashton was first being considered for “Two and a Half Men”, Jon felt a little awkward. But he says Ashton told him he already knew, and everything was cool.
When Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher first met, there was a little bit of an elephant in the room. Because Jon had dated Ashton’s wife Demi Moore in the mid-’80s . . . when Ashton was seven years old.
This was around the time Jon and Demi made the 1984 romantic comedy “No Small Affair”.
When Charlie Sheen had his meltdown and was fired from “Two and a Half Men”, Ashton emerged as the lead contender to replace him. At that point, Jon and Ashton had a meeting to assess their chemistry.
Yesterday on “Live with Kelly and Michael”, Jon said, quote, “I didn’t know if she had even told him that we had dated . . . “It was a very awkward meeting, but at the very end of it, he said, ‘She told me. It’s cool. Don’t worry about it.'”
Ashton and Demi split up during Ashton’s first season of “Two and a Half Men”.
