Jon Bon Jovi is getting into the TV business. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the singer will be executive producing a new reality show called If I Wasn’t a Rock Star.
The premise of the show? Music stars will temporarily put their celebrity lifestyles on hold and go back to their hometowns, where they experience the lives they might have had if they hadn’t become famous. In some ways the concept flips the idea of fame seeking reality TV series on its head.
In a statement, Jon says, “I was drawn to this project simply because it will be a celebration of the working men and women of this country. They are the real rock stars.” So far, there’s no network associated with the project.
Jon, who’ll speak at the commencement ceremony at New Jersey’s Rutgers University next month, is working on new music.
