Guns N’ Roses founding member Izzy Stradlin has ruled out any involvement in the rock group’s upcoming reunion.
Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan are regrouping for a string of shows in April, including a headlining spot at the Coachella festival in California, but it was not known if the remainder of the classic line-up, including Stradlin and drummer Steven Adler, would be joining them.
Reclusive Stradlin recently tweeted he would not be involved in the April shows, but his Twitter account was considered to be fake.
However, he has now confirmed to Rolling Stone that he will have no part in the shows or in any planned recording sessions.
In an email Stradlin writes: “At this point in time, I will not be playing at any of the April 2016 GNR shows… I’ve also not been in the studio recording or writing with any of the others recently. There is so much speculation, but so very little info, (that) I thought I should reach out.”
Stradlin co-founded the group with Rose in 1985. He originally left in 1991 but has made occasional guest appearances with the band.
