In devastating news, Jeopardy host Alex Trebek has announced that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. 

The media personality shared the news in a video message, but remained upbeat and steadfast in his willingness to fight. 

He even made a joke the lighten the news. 

“I’m gonna fight this,” he says.

“I’m gonna keep working, and with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also.”

“I plan to beat the low survival rates statistics of this disease.

“Truth told, I have to. Because under the terms of my contract I have to host Jeopardy! three more years!”

“So help me, keep the faith and we’ll win. We’ll get it done.

“Thank you.”

Thoughts go out to Alex and his family and friends after this shock diagnosis. 

Alex has hosted Jeopardy since 1984.
