Elton John is reported to be in discussions about appearing in The Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the sequel to the 2014 action spy hit based on The Secret Service comics series.

Director Matthew Vaughn initially wanted Elton John to appear in last year’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, but things didn’t work out. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Elton is in talks to join the movie’s sequel.

If it happens Elton will join a cast that includes returning star Taron Egerton and Mark Strong, along with new cast members Julianne Moore and Halle Berry. Rumours say Colin Firth may return, even though he seemingly met his demise in the first film.

The sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, will continue following the adventures of Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, who’s recruited into a secret spy organization.

Last year, Vaughn told ABC Radio that he had originally intended for Elton to appear in a subplot about celebrities getting kidnapped. He even conceived of an action scene with Elton, but the subplot ultimately was cut.
