The ’80s kingpins have set a September 11th Australian release date for Paper Gods, which features contributions from longtime collaborator Nile Rodgers as well as “Uptown Funk” hitmaker Mark Ronson, former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante and…Lindsay Lohan.
The band will tease their first album in four years by offering up the first single, “Pressure Off,” this week. They are about to embark on a huge North American tour to support the highly anticipated release. Paper Gods will be Duran Duran’s 14th studio album
Bassist John Taylor describes Paper Gods by saying, “It really goes back to that strange early Duran mix: the hard-edged pop, co-existing with this dark, weird, experimental side. That’s something that’s essential to all of us.”
Duran Duran will support the album with a short tour that kicks off on September 20th at Colorado’s Red Rock’s Amphitheatre. Nile Rodgers’s Chic will open several of the dates.
