When you think of a deaf dancer competing on Dancing With The Stars, I don’t imagine anyone fully understands the level of complexity that goes with that.

It wasn’t until I watched Nyle and Peta training for the Cha Cha that I began to understand.

Nyle needed an interpreter to be on stand by throughout training sessions, in case he needed to speak to Peta, and in order to give him a direction or count into a move, Peta had to tap him, or find a way to communicate that he could receive.

The pair did the Cha Cha to the hit song ‘Cake by the Ocean’ by DNCE – and I have to say, it’s just about the most inspiring thing I’ve ever seen.
