Music legend David Bowie, who passed away at the beginning of this year, would have turned 70 years old this coming January 8, 2017.
It’s been almost one year already without him walking this Earth, and no-one has forgotten the impact he had on our lives, and on music in general. To honour his 70th birthday, special “Celebrating David Bowie” concerts have been organised in London, New York City, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Sydney by Bowie’s collaborators and friends, dates listed below.
According to the Sydney Opera House website, the venue for the Sydney concert, “Celebrating David Bowie features musicians who performed, wrote and recorded with David over five separate decades including 1973’s Ziggy Stardust tour, the Diamond Dogs tour, Isolar II (Heroes) tour, the Sound and Vision greatest hits tour, his ultimate A Reality Tour and more recently on his final album ‘The Next Day’.”
“A hugely ambitious project the concert will feature over 22 extraordinary musicians and singers from around the world performing music from the entire catalogue of David Bowie.”
