During her concert at New York’s Beacon Theater on Wednesday, Cyndi Lauper paid tribute to Prince with an emotional performance of “When You Were Mine,” which she famously covered on her 1983 debut album, She’s So Unusual.

Cyndi struck up a friendship with the late Prince back in the 80’s. She was devastated by the news of his death on April 21, paying homage to her dear friend on Twitter.

Fellow 80’s hitmaker Boy George joined Cyndi on stage at her Wednesday night concert which included a stand-up performance by Rosie O’Donnell, who joined the duo for an encore performance of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”
