Celine Dion is the Queen of Las Vegas, and she’ll be singing a Queen classic when she takes the stage at the Billboard Music Awards in Vegas later this month.
Celine will receive the ICON Award at the May 22 show, and will perform Queen’s “The Show Must Go On” after accepting her honor. The title is fitting, because for the Canadian diva, the show has gone on – she continues to perform, despite the devastating losses of both her husband and her brother earlier this year, within days of one another.
She personally selected the “The Show Must Go On,” according to the show’s executive producer.
The ICON Award “honors the cultural impact of an artist whose extraordinary talent as a creator and entertainer has stood the test of time,” according to the BBMAs. Past recipients have included Neil Diamond, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Jennifer Lopez.
The Billboard Music Awards will air live on ABC America from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas starting at 8 p.m. ET on May 22. Ludacris and Ciara are the hosts.
