A Cold Chisel concert in Victoria has been cancelled because of smoke from the state’s deadly bushfires.

Promoters of A Day on the Green announced the cancellation of the Rutherglen show on Facebook on Tuesday.

“With the environmental situation and air quality at All Saints Estate Wine still rated as hazardous and weather conditions not easing overnight or showing any signs of improvement in the forthcoming hours, we have no other option than to cancel today’s Cold Chisel show,” the post reads.

“We are deeply disappointed we are unable to proceed but our first priority is to the health and safety of our patrons, staff and artists.”

Ticketholders will be contacted by Ticketmaster and a full refund will be provided.

Friday’s sold out show at Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley and Saturday’s sold out show at Mt Duneed Estate near Geelong are still to go ahead as planned.
