Planet of the Apes actor Buck Kartalian has died, aged 93.
The veteran character actor passed away on Tuesday in Mission Hills, California.
He was best known for his role as Julius, the keeper of the cages in the iconic sci-fi film. He returned to the franchise in the 1972 sequel Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, and played a gorilla named Frank.

Kartalian started out as a wrestler and body builder.
Throughout his six-decade career, he appeared in films such as Cool Hand Luke, The Outlaw Josey Wales, My Favorite Martian and The Rock. He also had a number of one-off roles on the small screen, including spots on Friends, ER, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and How I Met Your Mother.
