Bruce Jenner’s journey will have its most significant step yet when he appears on Diane Sawyer’s show later this month.

TMZ reports that Jenner views the two-hour special as a “farewell to Bruce”, and will present as a woman for the first time publicly.

Sources say that Jenner does not reveal a new chosen name or dress like a woman on camera, but that the interview is seen as the most significant event associated with the rumoured sex change.

Chronicling life from the age of 5, Jenner will talk about the difficulties of living life as a man but not feeling like one, and the impact that the decision to transition has had on family.

Sources say that some of the most compelling moments on the show, which airs April 24, are when Jenner talks about “mundane things” – regular, everyday occurrences – that will change post-transition.
