U2 are set to make a return to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon after Bono’s cycling accident forced the band to cancel a scheduled week-long residency on the talk show late last year.  While the Irish rockers won’t be playing for a week straight, U2 will appear on The Tonight Show this Friday, May 8.

The Daily Mail has published photos of the singer and host Jimmy Fallon rehearsing a sketch on the streets of New York City that prominently features bicycles.  In the photos, Bono and Fallon are riding on bikes, and a few shots show a Bono-dressed dummy being thrown onto the hood of a car.

Last November, Bono was riding a bike through New York’s Central Park when he collided with another rider.  He suffered multiple injuries, including a broken left arm, a fractured shoulder blade and a fractured left eye socket.  The accident happened just one day before U2 was scheduled to undertake a week-long residency on The Tonight Show.  Bono recently told The New York Times that he is still unable to play guitar because of his injuries.

Bono and U2 will launch their North American iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour on May 14 in Vancouver, Canada.
