Bindi Irwin has posted a heartfelt message on the 10th anniversary of her dad’s death.

Taking to Instagram, Bindi shared a picture of herself as a baby being held by Steve Irwin.

On a day that not only marks father’s day, but the day her dad tragically lost his life, the 18-year-old wrote about her ‘hero’.

“You’ll be my hero for my entire existence,” she shared.

You’ll be my hero for my entire existence. I love you more than words can describe.

“I love you more than words can describe.”

The post comes as a never before seen message from Steve was found in an unopened book.

The note was penned by the then 32-year-old, four years before Bindi was born.

“Probably one of the most unfortunate things in a ‘Bloke’s Life’ is that it takes over 30 years to realise how essential you have been to build my character, my ethics and, most importantly, my HAPPINESS,” he wrote at the time.

“At 32, I am finally starting to figure it out. In good times and in bad, you were there. Your strength and endurance to raise me will not go unrewarded. My love for you is my strength!

“For the rest of my life I will reflect on the unbelievably GREAT times we’ve shared and will continue to share. You’re my best friends!”

On Father’s Day 2006, the Wildlife Warrior lost his life while filming a documentary after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb.
