Kate Middleton is scheduled to deliver a baby at St. Mary’s hospital in London in the coming days. Her actual due date is April 25th.

Starting yesterday, the hospital restricted travel on nearby roads. The detour signs warn only of a “special event,” but everyone knows what it is: the royal birth.

The hospital parking lot has been converted to a media camp with trailers and satellite dishes. Two years ago, for the birth of Prince George, the medical team was plagued by the journalists scrapping for scoops. The royal family is attempting to avoid the same crush this time.

No hospital food for Kate, either. The royal chef will whip up fancy meals for the Duchess, including such favourites as mushroom risotto and pork loin.

Champagne is on ice — for after the delivery.
