After last year’s return to Star’s Hollow, Alexis Bledel is taking on her first big TV role since the Gilmore Girls.
Joining Elisabeth Moss, Bledel will play Margaret Atwood in The Handmaid’s Tale.
Based on the 80’s book by the same name, the show is set in a futuristic, totalitarian regime – think the likes of Divergent and The Hungers Games.
Taking place in the US, the dystopian tale sees fertile women forced into servitude to combat a fertility crisis.
In the series, Bledel will play a hand maiden alongside Moss’ character.
While there’s no word when or where it will premier in Australia, the series is due to hit Hulu in the US this April.
