Adele would like to thank the Academy for inviting her to be a presenter at next month’s Oscars ceremony — but she declined the honour, saying she needs to be fresh for the opening date on her comeback tour.
Though her team was pushing her to take the gig, Adele nixed the idea because of concerns about the fragile state of her voice. A source close to her tells Britain’s Mirror, “Organizers are desperate to get her and will still do anything to make it happen, but she feels the turnaround is too tight and will not let anything jeopardize her tour. She is aware things can go wrong which causes delays and also the potential impact of a long flight on her voice. She has dug her heels on this one.”
The Oscars air live on ABC on February 28th.
